Best Phones With Gorilla Dispaly

What Exactly is Gorilla Glass?
Gorilla Glass is a very special type of class exclusively created for use in mobile phones without adding weight to them, thereby increasing their mobility and durability. It is a protective layer of glass which is chemically designed to withstand more pressures. Practically speaking, it is unscratchable, unshatterable, completely withstanding type of glass used as a protective window. It is chemically tempered by immersing in a salt bath and compressing all large ions so that they are bonded together strongly.

What are the top smartphones that use Gorilla Glass?
The first ones to use this type of unbreakable glass are: the Samsung Galaxy S, the Apple iPhone 4, and the Samsung Galaxy Tab. Next in line to use this awesome feature were the Dell Venue Pro which features a Windows Phone 7 platform, the Nokia N8 which boasts of one of the best cameras at 12 MP, the latest Samsung Galaxy S2, Samsung Epic 4G and the Palm Pre.

Samsung Galaxy S2
One of the most recent rollouts of Samsung, the Galaxy S II features the enviable Gorilla Glass display. The phone is running on an Android platform with v2.3 Gingerbread OS in the box. It features a 4.3” super AMOLED Plus capacitive touchscreen, 16GB on board with  microSD card slot expandable up to 32GB, a 8 MP camera with 1080p video recording capability. The phone is run on a Orion chipset and 1.2GHz ARM Cortex A9 processor with Mali-400MP GPU.

Dell Streak 5
The Dell Streak is one of the most technologically advanced mobile phones of all times. This masterpiece of Apple has a Gorilla Glass display on its comparatively large 5.0” screen and runs on an Android 1.6 Donut platform which can be upgraded upto Android 2.2 Froyo OS. Its internal memory of 16GB is capacious enough for most users but it can be upgradeable to 32GB with microSD. It brags of a wonderful 5 MP camera and 720p video recording with dual LED flash light. A secondary camera is present to facilitate easier video calling. A number of apps are present by default in the iPhone while many more are available for download for free or for a minimal cost from the android market websites that cater to the needs of android users.

Samsung Galaxy Tab
The gargantuan mobile phone cum tablet PC from Samsung also features a Gorilla Glass display on the huge 8.9” display on this phone which weighs about 470g. Its huge size is compensated for by the amazing specs such as roomy memory slots, above-average cameras (both primary and secondary), the technologically sophisticated Android OS v3.0 (Honeycomb) powered by an 1GHz dual core processor, and lots more!

Dell Venue Pro WP7
The mobile phone from Dell which features a Windows Phone 7 platform is another phone that has the privileged Gorilla Glass display on its AMOLED screen. This is one of the very few phones that feature a vertical QWERTY slide-out keypad. Its camera is pretty good at 5MP and its memory slots are also quite spacious. Other good features include a powerful processor and a microSD slot.

Samsung Epic 4G
A pretty heavy QWERTY phone that has the Gorilla on its façade is the Samsung Epic 4G that runs on the antiquated v2.1 of Android and sports a 5MP camera with a number of features. It also has a secondary camera, hundreds of apps, a very capacious microSD slot, etc. But one major turn off is the fact that this is a CDMA phone and does not support all carriers.

Nokia N8
One of the best Nokia phones ever developed, the Nokia N8, is one of the forerunners to sport the Gorilla Glass on its 3.5” AMOLED touchscreen. The phone has an ultra-cool 12MP camera with an unbeatable resolution, a pretty powerful processor, a number of applications, etc. But it does not feature an Android platform and that remains a severe turn-off factor for all Android fans.

Palm Pre 2
Another lesser known phone, yet nevertheless powerful, is the Palm Pre 2 which also has got a stunning Gorilla Glass protection for its precious 3.1” TFT display. Despite the stunning display, there is hardly anything that stands out in the phone. I mean, it has a nice processor, a decent camera, etc. but it lacks the sheer class of a Galaxy S-II or a Desire HD if you know what I mean.
So what’re you waiting for? Get the Gorilla, hands on!
